Project/Process Engineer

Under supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer provides support for the efficient operation of plant production machinery and equipment, including research, development, and implementation of new processes, procedures, and equipment, and training of technical support staff.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Managing projects including ability to direct installation, integration, and operational testing of manufacturing equipment, conforming with governmental and industry standards.
Support the installation, troubleshooting, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of production equipment used in the Closure plants. May also be involved in work related to electrical, electronic, electromechanical, automatic and semi-automatic production machinery, equipment, and systems, including PLC machine controls, servo motor drive systems, computerized vision systems, AC and DC drives, pneumatic hydraulic, and other electromechanical equipment.
Ability to develop equipment designs to improve reliability and reduce operating costs for existing equipment.
Proficient with AutoCAD software for development of plant layouts, equipment assembly drawings and detail drawings that can be used to fabricate parts.
Research, design, procure, implement, test, and monitor new equipment technologies to improve productivity or lower manufacturing costs.
Prepare detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Capital projects and general projects for the plants. Preparation of request for capital authorizations as needed.
Develop and coordinate technical projects, including product and process trials, with internal departments, outside vendors, and customers. Coordinate manufacturing processes with outside vendors and internal departments to improve methods, to reduce costs, and to develop production equipment.
Support Plant manufacturing teams to implement process improvement, design equipment upgrades, support equipment rebuilds and lead cost reduction projects.
Coordinate safety training, including both corporate policy and governmental regulations, for electrical and electronic maintenance, adjustment, and repair procedures. Compile and maintain associate documentation for governmental and corporate compliance as required.
Manage project expenses to ensure projects stay within budget. Use Ariba system to develop Scope of Work documents, submit purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
Support Maintenance Excellence activities including CMMS system operation, failure analysis and development of preventative maintenance programs.
General knowledge of PLC equipment and general machine controls.
Participate, as requested, in engineering meetings to assist in the evaluation of manufacturing equipment designs, tooling, and engineering methods.
Plan, schedule, implement and complete assigned projects as directed.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field strongly preferred

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
